Isabella

Constant Gardener

This movie wasn't my first choice on a Fri nite, I was going to rent 'Capote' but it was all out, so then I picked 'Constant Gardener' - a really really good movie that I didn't expect it was that good - good in a sense that makes you think after watching!

A movie about a British High Commissioner's wife found brutally murdered in Northern Kenya. Her husband, Justin, explored a vast conspiracy between the British Government & the pharmaceutical industry while he was investigating the real reason behind his wife's death.

The pharmaceutical companies used the African lives to test their new medicine despite the side effects may kill lives. Tessa, Justin's wife, was trying to uncover the conspiracty & want to blackmail the companies to stop & to make them taking the medicine back to the lab for further improvments, but that of cux would cost billion of dollars & years of time.....I do believe it actually happens in the real world, which not only lives are seen as nothing, but they often do not receive the aid they need!

My tears couldn't help again when a tribe was being robbed by some African robbers, Justin was trying to get a little girl away with him on to the plane, but the pilot refused as is a rule that they couldn't take girl away (God knows why) & the pilot said to Justin that there are actually hundreds of them are waiting to be saved & obviously Justin can't save them all. The little girl ran away herself while Justin was arguing with the pilot....I know I can't really describe the scene well, but is really a scene that has left me a very deep impression!

Another movie I recommend you to watch if you have time. Also a very old movie - Dead Man Walking (starred by Sean Penn), a movie I watched more than 10 year ago & is the first movie that made me think a lot after watching, & I even still remember the messages it left me - even a murderer has its good sides & often those people you think who they are are not really what you think they are!

Unforgotten Moment

Although Dad passed away for 5 years & I don't feel too sad about it as time has passed, but it still hurts when I think of him & that he's not with us now. I still remember clearly when he was in hospital during his last few days. What strikes me the most is not the moment when he passed away, but when his lungs were not functioning at all & the doc & nurses had to PUT THE TUBES FROM HIS MOUTH INTO HIS LUNGS to help him breath. GOSH! That was a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life! I saw how painful Dad was & my tears were running down my face that I couldn't bear to see him suffered....I vaguely recalled Dad was trying to tell me not to cry when the nurse finally realized that is not a scene that we - as a patient's family, should be seeing, & they drew the curtain & asked us to wait outside.... & that was the last time I saw Dad awake....

That was 1 of the unforgotten moments in my life.....What's yours?

Peeping through my window

Actually this happened back in Feb, but I wanna wait till the final product is done & I'll put up the link here, so everyone can see it!

Eric had some friends from Italy & they needed to shoot a 1 minute film regards 'invasion of one's privacy' which basically means peeping through people's window & see what they are doing in their private place.

The crew came to my place & set up the camera from mum's room, which the window can let the camera peep through my kitchen. I had a great idea that law kei could come to me when I was standing in the kitchen, trying to hug or kiss me, then I push him away & somehow start a fight with him & then slap him on his face....I though it'd be something different to what others were doing....but then the director rejected my idea cos he said the film will only show for a minute.....Anyway, so he asked me just to go & pick up a glass & drink from it! Although it was a very simple & normal action, I was kind of nervous when I know the camera is on me!! & I had to do it a few times even for such a simple scene!!

& then law kei was also in the 2nd scene which he came towards me & then we kissed....as simple as that!

Then we moved on to the foyer of where I live, & they set the camera there to shoot the CCTV showing what we do in the elevator! & again, the director wanted law kei & I to kiss in the elevator! I actually think the acting is more natural when you have a partner with you, then doing all the acting on your own!!

But I think our scenes were cut in the final product, but they used some photos which are taken from my bedroom....anyway, the idea was quite cool & check the below links out & see:
